Attuned are a unique trio where extraordinary musicians come together to celebrate the beauty of Indian Classical music and harness its power to bring people from different cultures and musical backgrounds together.
Manish Pingle is one of the world’s leading Mohan Veena (Indian Slide Guitar) players. He is a disciple of Ustad Shahid Parvez, the renowned sitar maestro. He is a recipient of ‘Manohar Madgaonkar Music Excellence’ award 2019. He also has received an exclusive honor from the ‘World Book of Records’, London. Manish is a highly rated artist of All India Radio and Television. Gurdain Rayatt, a disciple of Pandit Shankar Ghosh and is one of the UK’s leading tabla players, having accompanied many of India’s most prestigious artists. He also plays in a diverse range of fusion groups in London. He has performed many times on BBC radio and at prestigious venues and festivals such as the Royal Albert Hall, WOMAD, South Bank and many more. Jack Jennings has a unique approach to adapting Indian Classical Music to the electric guitar. He is a disciple of Roopa Panesar (top UK sitarist), undergoing intensive training sessions to further adapt sitar techniques and concepts onto the electric guitar. He is also studying under Shakir Parvez Khan, son of Shahid Parvez. So this means Manish and Jack are part of the same extended lineage of Indian Classical Music, which add a great sense of unity to there musical direction, while developing their own sound as a trio. Attuned will take the audiences on a dynamic and exciting journey through the world of Indian Classical music. Whilst the music they play is in keeping with tradition, the innovative inclusion of the electric guitar embraces new timbres and melodic nuances without compromising the original spirit and intensity of the music. This is a rare combination of instruments and musicians from different backgrounds, celebrating the music that brought them together. Attuned have performed across the UK with the top Asian Arts agencies such as SAA UK and Milapfest.
